POSITION SUMMARY
This position contributes to the Agency's success by working under the direction of the Business Applications Managers in support of Business Applications and processes.  This includes resolving end user Business and Application issues, documentation, contributing to system configuration, testing, and training on new system functionality and best practices.

Essential Functions Summaries

  • Provide support and administration for various business applications and processes as directed.
  • Support and tracking of internal and external helpdesk cases, including vendor escalations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve intermediate-level system, business process, and data related issues.
  • Assist with business application and business process related projects with teams comprised of department managers and staff, IT infrastructure team members, outside contractors and vendors.
  • Complete project management duties, test procedure development, and deploy solutions into production environments.
  • Configure testing environments (i.e., databases, test data) and provide testing guidance for employees on new releases of software.
  • Document business applications and associated procedures in the form of instruction and reference materials.
  • Conduct internal training and coordinate external vendor training for end users on business applications.
  • Assist with rolling out modifications to business applications in a manner that minimizes impact to normal business operations, ensuring the software is tested prior to live deployment, and that software version control is enforced.
  • Actively participate in gathering requirements, analyzing requests, and proposing/defining solutions.
  • Keep current on industry and technology trends, developments, and best practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education and Experience

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, project management or related field with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in Business/IT Support preferably with a cloud-based application focus.

OR

Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Experience: 4 years’ experience in Business/IT Support preferably with a cloud-based application focus. Any combination of experience, certification, or degree in a related field will be considered.

  • Hands on experience with business application/web administration tasks, including but not limited to user provisioning, defining roles/security, documentation, data imports/exports.
  • Demonstrated experience interfacing with stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand business processes and provide solutions.
  • Demonstrated Knowledge of Databases/Queries (MS-SQL preferred)
  • Demonstrated Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • General knowledge of Windows Operating Systems (desktop/server)
  • General Networking knowledge
  • Experience with report writing tools is a plus
  • Experience with scripting languages is a plus
  • Previous Housing Authority experience is a plus

Bremerton Housing Authority has the discretion to accept any other equivalent combination of education and experience when relevant.

Certifications & Licenses: Any technical certifications (application related, system administration, project management) are a plus. Additional certifications relevant to various BHA business applications may also be required when specific to the position.

Other Requirements: Must pass background check indicative to the position requirements. Must possess a valid Driver's License for use in Washington State with the continued ability to be covered under the Housing Authority’s auto insurance policies.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This is primarily an office position with the opportunity to move about at will. Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate various pieces of office equipment. The employee is required to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Employee may be exposed to noise from basic office machine operation. The work environment is fast-paced and moderately noisy.
