Bremerton Housing Authority is a small public, local government agency that provides affordable housing to the Kitsap area community. Our mission is to provide high quality, stable and sustainable housing and related services to people who have limited financial means. Our work is to help our clients to become economically self-sufficient, while at the same time strengthen communities. We use our public and private resources efficiently and effectively. The starting pay range we’re offering for this position is $60,000-$70,000 dependent on qualifications.

The Position: We’re looking for an experience Property Manager with a full understanding of managing affordable housing properties, who is organized, has great attention to detail and has excellent customer service. This person will come in with initiative to roll up their sleeves and get right to work while at the same time building positive relationships with BHA staff and tenants. It would also be very useful if this person has had facilities project management experience or has overseen facilities improvements or construction work. The Property Manager I is responsible to manage and oversee day-to-day operations, administration, and improvement of the assigned affordable housing residential properties in accordance to regulations through HUD. The position oversees the highly regulated administration for low income tenants, ensures a high occupancy rate, and keeps the buildings in good physical condition at all times with sound fiscal operations.


The Minimum Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's Degree (four year college or technical school) Required, Field of Study: Business, Public Administration, Social Services, or related field

 

 

Experience: 4 plus years HUD property management experience, which demonstrates the key competencies required for the position. Experience must demonstrate high level knowledge interpreting and utilizing applicable federal, state, and local laws (including Landlord Tenant Laws)

 

 

Computer Skills: Must have experience using Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Must have experience using various office equipment such as copiers, scanners, fax machines, etc.

 

 

Other Requirements: Must possess a valid driver's license for use in Washington State with the continued ability to be covered under the Housing Authority's auto insurance policies.

Must pass background check indicative to the position requirements.

Bremerton Housing Authority has the discretion to accept any other equivalent combination of education and experience when relevant.
